Starmark

Initiated in 1999, Starmark is owned by one of the leading diversified business conglomerates of the country – Emami Group, headquartered in Kolkata.   Initially promoted in collaboration with Landmark, it merged with Emami Frank Ross Ltd, part of Emami Group of Companies in 2007 and subsequently its brand identity was changed to Starmark.

Starmark is one of the pioneers of large-format leisure retail, offering a wide range of books, stationery, movies & music, toys, gifts et al. There are six stores across India, four in Kolkata and two in Chennai with plans to open more stores in other cities in the near future.

The flagship store in Kolkata located at South City Mall is spread over an approximate area of 15,000 square feet. Another 8,000 sq. ft. outlet at the Quest Mall, Kolkata meets the need for a leisure and entertainment store in Kolkata’s Ballygunge area, a premium residential and commercial zone.

Two more stores of the chain - one at Mani Square Mall with an area of 7,000 sq. ft and another boutique bookstore of 3500 sq. ft. at City Centre, Salt Lake cater to the needs of the customers of North Kolkata. 

In 2013, Starmark chain of stores stepped out of Kolkata and entered the Chennai market with a 15,000 sq. ft. grand store located at Express Avenue Mall. Encouraged by an overwhelming response received from the bookworms of Chennai, a second store was launched in 2014 at Phoenix Market City, spread over an area of 10,000 sq. ft.
